As I was driving to water my sister-in-laws garden since she is in Florida I noticed that Shea Homes are beginning to build homes again in the Beckett subdivision just off Gilead Rd. It was a sight for sore eyes.

For months now developers have stopped many of their construction on new homes. Real Estate in the Lake Norman region like all around the country became very slow.

However, after driving through that neighborhood I decided to continue into the Gilead Ridge subdivision and take a look around. It happens to connect with Beckett and found they are also building some new homes.

Beckett subdivision huntersville NCGilead Ridge is an established neighborhood and has homes priced in the $200k to $300k range. They also have very nice townhomes in the high $100's to low $200's. Beckett has only a few home's and are priced in the $300k-$400k range. They are Shea built homes and many of them have over 3000 square feet.

Both communities are located in one of Charlotte Mecklenburg's best school districts. They are also in close proximity to Southlake Christian Academy and Lake Norman Charter schools if you are looking outside CMS schools.

It is a great site to see since a developer pulled out of proposed subdivision directly across the street called Arbormere.

Since the economy has taken a turn for the worse in Real Estate many of the developers had slowed down the building of new homes in the Huntersville region. However, there is still some inventory and deals to made out there.

I recently drove by Beckett just off of Gilead Rd in Huntersville and noticed Shea Homes beginning to build on some of their vacant lots. Another hot neighborhood is Centennial. It is located just a mile past downtown Huntersville. After reviewing the number of new properties that have sold Centennial top's the list.

There is a great deal inventory out there for people to choose from and think it a great time to find deals on either older homes or new construction.
