New Social Media Craze - "Foursquare"
Has anyone else heard of this new social media gadget called Foursquare? I am not sure what to make of it or how it could possibly enhance our industry but thought you may want to read about it. Click link below to read the article from today's Charlotte Observer.
Now is the world getting crazy or should we just embrace this new technology let it help us to market ourselves and business? I surely would not want young kids to start giving out their location for everyone to see. However, are we not as Realtors trying to promote ourselves as much as possible to make potential clients believe we are experts in the areas we sell or buy?
Well, I have registered to use "foursquare" but I am waiting on gettiing my new iPhone so I can download the application. If anyone has already started to use this feature and would like to share their experience I would love to hear about it.

4Sq has been around for a while, and is something I'm not drawn to playing, though I don't see anything wrong with it per se. I don't really want to disclose my location at every turn, and frankly, I find it a bit boring to read that people have become the 'mayor' of the local Taco Bell. HAHA!
On the other hand, it's connecting, and we'll see how long it goes on . . . the value to consumers for our business . . . I'm not sure. Might be TMI and could also be dangerous in spots, I imagine.
Another thing to add to my social networking daily to-dos. Yikes. I joined, but I'm not sure I'm going to get into it. Just like I twitter, but don't really enjoy doing it or understand how it may help our business. Thanks for helping me to keep up with it all!

Hi Mike ~ I could see doing this in the days before I was gainfully employed - or at least when going out was more important than anything else. It just doesn't do it for me at this point - and even if the Holy Grail of social networking sites was added to the mix I think it would make my head explode to add one more thing. I prefer real life - or a good book - not necessarily in that order.
