Distressed Waterfront Properties on Lake Norman.
Unfortunately, Charlotte, NC was hit hard because of the banking industry many changes. This in turn has hurt the luxury housing market in the Lake Norman area.
In my recent search of homes that are in Short Sale status or foreclosure I have found 18 Luxury Waterfront homes. In past times some of these homes would have priced well over a million or more.
I can remember that for many of us it was only a thought to be able to afford lakefront living. Lots alone were well over $200,000.

Lake Norman is a beautiful man made lake that covers over 500 miles of shoreline. Duke Power created the lake and has done a great job balancing the growth and keeping its natural beauty. Their are a number of islands that boaters take advantage of, as well as, great fishing holes for the anglers.
Lake Norman is also home to the Professional Anglers Association (PAA) Tour Event and American Bass Anglers Divisional. Just to name a few fishing events.
If you are looking for affordable waterfront living make sure to get off exit 25 - exit 36 when driving North or South on I-77.

What a beautiful home...I wish you all the best in getting it sold. Have you thought about advertising overseas?
Very cool home on the lake. It looks beautiful there. Thanks!
Hi Nicole..I wish they were my listings! Unfortunatley they are just some homes that are on Lake Norman. I have not thought about advertising overseas but I am open to trying.
Lake Norman is a beautiful area. I had buyer's, now friends, that I was working with 2 years ago from the Charlotte area who I found a referral for to get their house sold. It was during the time when Charlotte's market started to take a beating and as it ended up so did they! The listing agent stayed in constant contact with me and did a super job but although these folks had a great home the neighborhood was in transition and the bubble bursting! It did finally get sold and they are now happily living here amongst many of their relatives.

Hi Sue..Unfortunately for sellers on Lake Norman they are certainly not happy with how the market has treated them. Some of the Luxury Homes are selling for 20% list price. A major discount! Especially for the million dollar homes. But yes it is a great area and for those who want to enjoy waterfront living this is a great time to buy. I am glad it all worked out for your clients.
